One of our deepest longings is to be heard. Let me listen. Over time, our experiences and beliefs shape how we navigate through life. Difficult situations, such as the death of a loved one, divorce, natural disasters, school stress, and loss of a job, can make it hard for us to move forward in our lives. According to Brene Brown, “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they are necessary to overcome these challenges. Let me be the support you need to get through your tough times.
My goal is to meet you where you are. To understand your environment and help overcome barriers, so that you can meet your goals in accomplishing mental health wellness. I want to empower you with tools that help improve communication, strengthen self-esteem, and encourage optimal mental health.
I would like to offer you a safe, non-judgmental space to share your innermost thoughts, and I invite you to join me on this road to healing and growth. Let us walk down this road together, one step at a time.

Together… we can do this!!! Just be patient. We all make mistakes…. it’s how we recover from them and bounce back that matters!!! I borrow from a variety of counseling techniques. Among these techniques is Solution-Focused Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I also use other Person-Centered approaches. As we begin the counseling process, I realize that each person is unique and individual. Each will need something individualized to them to determine the path to their journey towards healing. There may be the need for clients to complete assessments, and possibly some take home assignments. Some clients may be with me for a longer amount of time. All of this is determined on an individual basis. I will maintain an awareness to cultural meaning, confidentiality and privacy. I am a warm and patient listener that brings integrity with a dash of empathy and hope. Effective counseling only occurs when mutual trust is earned and maintained. All that I ask is that you trust the process and be patient and do what is asked. There is a reason behind each task, assignment and question.
As an associate, I will work with my supervisor, as a team. We will work together to ensure that clients’ have individualized care to meet their unique needs.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Student with an expected graduation in July 2023. My education prepares me to work with individuals, families, couples, and groups
counseling. My approach to counseling will focus on person-centered, cognitive behavior, reality, and solution-focused therapy.
Person-centered therapy helps the client learn how to facilitate change in their lives, while providing empathy and positivity.
Cognitive therapy helps the client evaluate how their thinking influences their behavior, and helps them identify new behaviors to
emulate. Reality therapy helps the client learn realistic and responsible action. Solution-focused therapy helps the client learn ways
to not just talk about their problems, but also to give them solutions.

I am Briana S. Williams, an LPC-I (Licensed Professional Counselor Intern). My career background is in education as a former English teacher and currently a school counselor. A part of my purpose in life is to help shape, mold, and direct today's youth ages 5 and up. I also have a zeal for working with families, couples, groups, and elderly individuals to produce generational mental wealth. We live in a multicultural world, and I find culture one of the most beautiful assets of a person. I am committed to the development of all people, regardless of age, race, religion, or cultural background. I personally witnessed the power of healing through counseling. While I pay homage to the legendary theorists of the counseling field and am grateful for my master's level education, I believe that life itself is also a great teacher. Life and its sometimes-swift transitions have taught me the value of being empathetic, caring, compassionate, honest, supportive, and goal oriented. I would love to share these life lessons with you!
When it comes to the nature of counseling, I prefer to use more of a humanistic approach to serve my clients. The theoretical practice I use is Existential Counseling. When you enter my office, I view you as a whole; mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial being. As an Existential Counselor, I believe you are seeking counseling because you desire to find a sense of “meaning” in life. I will also use methods of REBT (rational emotive behavioral therapy) to service my clients. It is my obligation to help you create a better version of yourself that provides space for creativity and love. This is achieved by first establishing an authentic counselor/client relationship. My office is a safe, judge-free, loving space where I will encourage you to discover your own priorities, values, and ideas. Listening, questioning and goal setting are techniques that will guide and support you as you work towards living an authentic life in today’s society.
